The Czech Republic! one of the countries of the European Union, this country is bordered by Austria to the south, Germany to the west, Poland to the northeast, and Slovakia to the east. Its short name is Czechia. I guess this is enough about its location and name. So let’s come to the point of why to study in the Czech Republic.
1. Wide Range of Study Programs
With a unique conception of the study, the Czech Republic universities provide the diverse offer of study programs. If I talk technically so there are almost 1000 degree programs in English, 61 higher education universities, and 20 towns as per www.studyin.cz. if I am not wrong there are over 45,000 foreign students are studying at Czech institutions. And institutions belong to the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports. Thanks to the quality higher education on offer.
Many of my friends are studying there and as per their experiences, the universities are very helpful to find the right course for you and to guide from beginning to till get admitted into the university. Interestingly, most of the universities are public and you don’t need to pay a lot of money for your studies. Czech universities rang among the best universities of the world that offers Bachelor Programme, Master Programme, Ph.D., MBA, Short term program, Preparatory study program, and language courses.
2. Affordable Living Cost
Study in Czech Republic cost is totally in budget for that you need to ask universities or check online for respective university. And the Czech Republic is very affordable for living especially if you compare it to other European Union countries. You can stay in University Dormitory starting from 4500 Czech Koruna (usually including electricity and water bill plus WiFi or depend on the chosen university) or you can stay in a shared apartment or flat if you want so but it would cost you around double of Dormitory cost. Additionally, students are encouraged to get an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) which provides discounts for cinemas, restaurants, concerts, and more. The Czech government financially offers scholarships to eligible foreign students through the Ministry of Education and Youth and Sport. You can eat out your lunch at the university canteen or a meal at a restaurant that would be cost you around 130 Czech Koruna or can cook by yourself at the Dormitory kitchen. The transportation system of Czechia is cheap, efficient, and highly integrated.
3. Student Life in the Czech Republic
One of the countries with the most appealing atmosphere. You can go Hiking, water sports, Climbing, Caving, Fishing, etc. You will have the chance to visit fascinating cultural heritage and history. You can also keen to point out that the beer is cheap!! You can go to a museum like the Museum of Communism, The Czech National Museum, or the Jewish Museum and take the opportunity to discover more about Czech history.
4. Working during Studies
Can international students work in the Czech Republic while studying? Then the answer is Yes! you can work and study at the same time. You might be facing a language barrier when looking for a job in the Czech Republic since more jobs required fluency in the Czech language but there are numerous working options for international students, especially in big cities where international companies are located. You can work from the beginning of your first year of study to 20 hours a week. But during summertime, you can work full time if your employer allows you to do so. As everyone is well known about the fact of tourism of the Czech Republic, so there are always open vacancies for a tour guide who knows English or you can work as a bartender.
There are a lot of job options while studying you just need to explore. The Czech people are very supportive they’ll help you in this matter. So try to be a good friend of them.
5. Safe all the Time
Yes, The Czech Republic is very safe for everyone, I haven’t face any trouble to date. As per the Global Peace Index,2020, The Czech Republic is the 8th most peaceful country in the world. Any kind of unfairness or even violence towards international students is almost non-existent.

Where you can taste and enjoy something that the Czech people are rightly incredibly proud of their beautiful, glorious Czech beer. And these are just my favourite pubs that I recommend, and they are very reasonably priced.
U Zlatého Tygra (The Golden Tiger)
U Zlatého Tygra is located very close to Old Square Town and is perhaps the most famous pub in Prague. It is a cosy pub that is offering good food as well.
U Zlatého Tygra is the best place in Prague to understand and authentic experience a real Czech beer pub. If you want to know the appeal of the most famous Czech beer of all Pilsner Urquell, this is the place to go.
It is a straightforward formula to get a table is on time, or you can wait for a few minutes because few tourists have come only for a glass of beer. Grab your seat, they immediately offer you your beer and brings you second one just after finishing first because the staff is very attentive and cooperative. The locals let you share tables with them, and the atmosphere is excellent.
They serve this beer from a special tank very different from a typical barrel. Every week this barrel is topped up with fresh beer. Keep it on priority to try this most refreshing beer when you are in Prague.
Opening Hours:- 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm
Address:- Husova 228/17 Staré Město Praha 1 Praha 1, 110 00
Beer Geek Bar
Beer Geek is downstairs cosy bar with lots of small tables. This bar is offered almost 32 international beers on tap. You can do a pint. I noticed absolutely the best thing is that after every keg is tapped they clean the tab, like every single time. You can buy some Czech beer bottle as an excellent gift.
Food is perfect bar food, including a selection of chicken wings with different sauces. If you have any beer question, the excellent staff is there to answer your question.
If you are looking for a classy, traditional homemade Czech food with exquisite beer, then you are the right place. This pub is the part of the renowned Ambiente restaurant, and this place is to feed a lot of people and serves up the endless stream of fresh tank Pilsner Urquell daily!.
Believe it or not, no matter how much Czech beer you have, you are unlikely to have a hangover. The price is very reasonable. You can sample traditional liqueurs served by the shot.
This pub is one of the biggest and newest additions to the Prague pub scene. It is also a Pilsen tank pub connected to the city of Pilsen. I think chief brewer is here, specially brought from one of Pilsen’s best Pilsner Urquell pubs. Cerveny Jelen is the large pub that used to be a bank and amazing designed with contemporary deer-related features.
So make a reservation there’s a lively atmosphere and great food that’s cooked in some huge full plank kitchen. My experience the service has been positive. This pub is located centrally, and ultimately the most important thing in a pub is the Czech beer and here the Red Deer the beer!!

Sad Man’s Tongue Bar & Bistro
When we ( Me & my husband) arrived, we felt like we were in another world, old atmosphere, great live music and cosiness. We greeted immediately after stepping in. We hadn’t made a booking so wasn’t sure we would get a table. But luckily within 10 minutes wait we got a table. The service was flawless from start to end.
The food was truly divine. Also, we had a couple of Czech beers which were well priced and slightly different with unfiltered lager and blue moon, which was a lot less gassy with a fantastic flavour.
Opening Hours:- 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
Address:- Konviktská 7, 110 00 Staré Město, Czechia
Bar Chyse is a super adventurous bar which is quite away from the city centre. One of my Czech friends recommends me this pub. This pub is usually has a few different Matuschka beers on tap. Currently, Matuschka probably has the best reputation of all the Czech microbreweries. Matuschka beer is kept very well by Bar Chyse. The interior of the small pub is really warm and cosy, and the service is amiable.

These are just my favourite bars that I recommend and I am inviting people to agree or disagree in the comments box or even better add their recommendations. Are you ready to get boozy!!!!!?
Charles Bridge in Prague, Things you Need to Know in 2021
Charles Bridge is the oldest bridge standing over the Vltava river in central Prague named after King Charles IV. There are medieval buildings on both sides of the bridge—this bridge connecting the old town to lessor town.
You will appreciate the splendid statues created on the bridge. So enjoy your evening or morning when you are in Prague by walking the Charles Bridge. You will thank me later. But the condition is you must be aware of pickpocketers during crowded.
What Historians Say about Charles Bridge
Charles Bridge is the second oldest bridge in the Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV. The development of the bridge was led by German-Czech prominent architecture Peter Parler. At the beginning of the 15th century, this bridge gets completed after almost half-century.
The bridge is built of sandstone block, and legend says raw eggs were used to strengthen the bridge. But there is no evidence whether this statement is true or not. Charles Bridge is 516 meters long, 9.5 meters wide, 13 meters high, and stands on 15 pillars as perPragueGO.
And this bridge was replaced by the old Judith bridge that was severely damaged by a flood in 1342.
Significant Statues on Charles Bridge
On Charles Bridge, there are three tens of splendid statutes in two opposite rows. Every Statue has its own story and history. The most popular Statue is St. John of Nepomuk, was a Czech saint thrown into Vltava river from the bridge during the reign of Wenceslas IV. Want to know the whole story behind this execution?
Statue of Saints Vincent Ferrer and Saint Procopius is artistically important ones on the bridge was created in 1712. When you look at the Statue with a concentration on the left, then you will able to find a coffin with a dead person whom Saint Vincent Ferrer brought back to life. On Saint Vincent Ferrer right there is Saint Procopius.
Statue of St. Lutgarde is very interesting from an artistic point of view, maybe the most praised piece of art on the Charles Bridge was created by Matthias Braun in 1710. And this Statue is showing the Czech saint and blind nun’s vision of crucified Jesus.
Wishes Come True on Charles Bridge
You can make a wish on Charles Bridge, and it comes true, YES, it works if you do it properly. What you need to do is just find St. John of Nepomuk statue, 8th Statue on the right if you are heading from Old Town Square. There is shining like the gold spot on the bottom Statue.
You can bring good luck by touching the Statue to ensure that you return to Prague soon. Then walk a few steps towards the Old Town from the Statue, and you will come to a cross with five stars on the left parapet, here you are supposed to touch the cross and the stars with your left hand and make a wish.
Whatever your wish, it will come true within a year !! Blessings.
Charles Bridge Market
There is a famous market near the bridge where you can experience variants of Bohemian crystal souvenirs, handicrafts, paintings, jewels, Donut ice cream cones (Unique taste though), and many other goodies. And the lights will take you back in the past time with gas street lamps.
I do not want to reveal all the beauty of this market; I think one should go and experience the secret of the bridge and its market itself.
How to Reach & Best Time to Walk
Charles Bridge publicly opens 24*7. And the good news is there is no entrance fee; it is entirely free. On the bridge, you will able to see colourful tourists and maybe face a crowd during day time.
The best time to visit early morning or late evening. It will take almost one hour to visit the entire bridge.
You can reach by public transport or by taxi easily. Tram number 17 stops both sides of the bridge. So you can take this tram If you are coming directly from the airport, then it will take hardly 20 minutes by taxi.
The architecture that makes Charles Bridge uniquely beautiful. I had a great walk over the Vltava river, and there is something magical I will remember all my life.
The lights shining and the view of the castle are gorgeous at night. I also experienced Charles Bridge calmness early in the morning. I must say it’s always stunning.
